"## Idea\nPulse — a small local daemon that pops up throughout the day to keep the human meat-vehicle running well and the work-day intentional. Vital-signs metaphor: if you skip too many checks, your Pulse weakens. Theming lane is wide open — neon-green ECG line, soft heartbeat blip on popups, "PULSE LOST" overlay if cadence breaks.\n\n## Popup types\n- Hourly pulse check: "Stand up. 10 squats." Snooze allowed, skip is not. Physically dismissible only.\n- Bathroom + lunch breaks: scheduled, not nag-on-clock — they appear when the calendar says, not when "an hour passed."\n- 15-min phase popup: tiny modal every 15 min — "What are you doing right now? Any thoughts?" — captures into a daily phase log\n- (Stretch) Daily focus lens reminder: pulls from internal-joseph#1 — "It's Wednesday → Security day"\n\n## Implementation thoughts\n- Likely a Station subcommand or sibling daemon — Station already has tray + WH_KEYBOARD_LL hotkey infrastructure\n- Or standalone Tauri tray app if it grows beyond a daemon\n- Phase log → append to ~/.pulse/YYYY-MM-DD.jsonl, optional end-of-day rollup into a markdown summary\n- Theming: ECG-line accent (neon green or PCT brand red #902e27), monospace, soft heartbeat audio on popup\n- Pulse health = rolling adherence score over the last N popups. Visible in the tray icon as a thin line that flatlines if you skip everything.\n\n## Why\nSolo founder + computer-bound work = back pain, skipped lunches, and 4-hour blackouts where nothing got logged. Pulse is the operating system for the human running the operating system. It's also the audit trail for "what did I actually do today" without having to remember.\n\n## Open questions\n- Tie into Station daemon, or new repo?\n- Phase popup wording — fixed prompt, or rotate (e.g. "what's blocking you?", "what's working?", "what surprised you?")\n- Should the phase log auto-fed into the agent-journal pipeline, or stay separate?\n\n## Naming notes\n"Pulse" — vital signs + Pink Floyd reference. Approved."
